It provides the easy way to create and launch tasks at specified time / day. JIT Scheduler supports 4 types of tasks: Application, Document, System Shutdown or just Message (Remind). This means, that you can open document (e.g. picture, text or Web - page link etc.) as well as launch an application (.exe). You can also turn off your computer at the desired time and show text messages which remind about some important events. The Scheduled Remote Tasks Manager is designed to monitor the power tasks and patch deployment tasks currently scheduled on a remote target machine. You can use it to modify and delete the scheduled tasks. For example, if you know a certain machine will be unavailable on a certain day you can reschedule any tasks that are set to be performed on that machine. The Scheduled Remote Tasks Manager uses the services of the Microsoft Task Scheduler 2.0 or later to display and manage the scheduled tasks on a target machine. The Scheduled Remote Tasks Manager is different than Deployment Tracker. The Scheduled Remote Tasks Manager enables you to monitor and modify scheduled power and patch deployment tasks, while Deployment Tracker only enables you to monitor active deployment tasks (and not power tasks). How to Access the Scheduled Remote Tasks Manager You access the Scheduled Remote Tasks Manager from Machine View or Scan View by right-clicking on a machine and then selecting View scheduled tasks. Multiple instances of the Scheduled Remote Tasks Manager can be active at the same time. Field Description Refresh Refreshes the information displayed in the dialog. Uninstall Ivanti Scheduler Removes the Ivanti Scheduler from the machine. Use of the Ivanti Scheduler was discontinued in v2023.2 and it should be removed from all target machines. Be careful not to remove the Ivanti Scheduler until you are certain that all scheduled tasks still using this scheduler have been run. Uninstall deployment tool Removes the tool used by Security Controls to execute a deployment package on the machine. As such, the service scheduler ranks a large portionof the nodes that meet the job's constraints and selects the optimal node toplace a task group on. The service scheduler uses a best fit scoring algorithminfluenced by Google's work on Borg. Ranking this larger set of candidatenodes increases scheduling time but provides greater guarantees about theoptimality of a job placement, which given the service workload is highlydesirable.Service jobs are intended to run until explicitly stopped by an operator. If aservice task exits it is considered a failure and handled according to the job'srestart and reschedule blocks.Batch jobs are much less sensitive to short term performance fluctuations andare short lived, finishing in a few minutes to a few days. Although the batchscheduler is very similar to the service scheduler, it makes certainoptimizations for the batch workload. The main distinction is that after findingthe set of nodes that meet the job's constraints it uses the power of twochoices described in Berkeley's Sparrow scheduler to limit the number of nodesthat are ranked.Batch jobs are intended to run until they exit successfully. Batch tasks thatexit with an error are handled according to the job's restart and rescheduleblocks.The system scheduler is used to register jobs that should be run on allclients that meet the job's constraints. The system scheduler is also invokedwhen clients join the cluster or transition into the ready state. This meansthat all registered system jobs will be re-evaluated and their tasks will beplaced on the newly available nodes if the constraints are met.This scheduler type is extremely useful for deploying and managing tasks thatshould be present on every node in the cluster.
