2025-04-09When I first connected my new TS9520a printer to my WiFi network in early February, I could toggle between that printer and my much older MG5220 to print on either device. The Canon Print App, however, no longer sees my MG5220 from the Options dialog box when printing. I can Add/Switch to the MG5220, but when I click next when printing a document, the printer selection is automatically changed to my new printer, and when I attempt to switch the printer selection from the Options dialog box, the resulting search doesn't find my MG5220 even though other areas of the Print App can see it. I've turned off and turned back on all printers and devices and ensured that the older Canon printer (MG5220) is connected to my access point. I've reinstalled the Canon Print App, and I've deleted and readded printers within the Canon Print App -- yes, the Print App sees my MG5220 to add it to my list of printers. I've turned off my new printer so the old MG5220 is the only one active, but the Options dialog box in the Print App still doesn't see the MG5220 even though I acknowledge wanting to use it ("Yes") when the App launches to print a document. It seems that the Options dialog box is looking for AirPrint printers, which the old MG5220 is not, because I receive "a no AirPrint printers found" message when attempting to make a printer selection from the Options dialog box. Has anyone else encountered this recently? What am I missing?
