If you don’t have an Opera Account Ok, I figured out a way, but hopefully someone else will have a less hackish way :pClose Opera and go to the Mail Root Directory of Opera and open up the accounts.ini file. There you'll find a section called [Accounts] at the top. In there you'll find some lines which reads AccountX=Y, where X is a sequential number and Y is a number corresponding to a belonging [AccountY] section. 2025-04-10Burnout426 Volunteer last edited by Hmm, you've pretty much covered everything. Do you have any other devices actively checking those accounts? If so, try having the other devices not check for a while just to test what happens. If that turns out to be the problem, I'm not sure what you can do about it.However I will try to use a "new" Opera Mail with those accounts and a Thunderbird checking.Yeh, if it works fine in Thunderbird and not in that Opera, I'm not sure there's anything you can do.Does the log show that Opera is indeed checking every ten minutes. Do you see IDLE in the log?I don't understand very well what you mean, however there isn't the word IDLE in the log.In the log, every ten minutes, you should see Opera connect to the IMAP server, select folders like Inbox and get an update on new messages. Then, Opera should disconnect. But, with IDLE support (Opera supports it, but not sure if hotmail does), a connection will be left open so you get messages as soon as they come in in that folder. Then, when the 10 minutes comes along, the idling connection will stop, Opera will connect to the server, check for new messages and then IDLE again. Any of that stuff that happens should be in the log. Since you don't see IDLE anywhere in the log, ignore that part. Now, Opera will also check for new messages in a folder when you click it. You should
2025-04-06Very helpful feature for us developers jojo0587 @rafalspuka last edited by No. For me workspaces is good. One session with the division of tabs into several views (workspaces). But yes, I would like to have access to different sessions in one Opera installation. Only in a different form. Simply (on the toolbar?) There would be a switch to operate the profiles. Each profile would have separate extensions, bookmarks, cookies, etc.Only it's best to use multiple profiles at once (each in a separate Opera window). And additionally there could be a "guest" profile, temporary, which would not remember bookmarks / cookies / etc. after leaving him. According to me, Opera profiles make sense only in this form and I will vote 100% for such a proposal. My proposals for changes in Opera (Google Document). - There are not enough signs to put all the links here. aleksod last edited by leocg This would be [Caps are not allowed]! Make it an option for those that don't understand its benefits. druidman last edited by The implementation of containers/sandboxes currently found in Firefox Dev Edition is great. But I also love workspaces as implemented by Opera. They are really quite different things, but it would be nice to bring them together in this sort of way:Allow creating a workspace that is simply an organizational device (what we have already, with Opera workspaces).Allow the above, but sandboxed.Make it a little easier to right-click and create new workspaces of either type 'on the fly'. dragory @jojo0587 last edited by I would love for this to be an option with workspaces. It is very useful for separating work/personal accounts and multiple individual accounts on the same website without having to maintain a completely separate profile with separate settings and extensions (which is more hassle than it's
2025-04-15Burnout426 Volunteer @gjvadr last edited by @gjvadr said in Opera gx installer closes when trying to install:I don't know how to do thatIn Windows, goto "Settings -> Accounts -> Other users" and click "Add account".In the Microsoft "How will this person sign in?" prompt, click "I don't have this person's sign-in information". Then, at the Microsoft Create account prompt, click "add a user without a Microsoft account".Then, type testaccount for the username (don't set a password) and click next. That will create the account. Then, click the start button, click your username, click "sign out" and then sign into the testaccount, give it a sec to set up things, launch Edge, goto scroll down to the Opera GX section, expand it and click the link to the 64-bit offline package.Once the installer is downloaded, launch it, click "options", make sure "install for" is set to "current user", make sure "install path" is set to "C:\Users\testaccount\AppData\Local\Programs\Opera GX", uncheck all the option boxes and install.Does Opera install then?If so, you at least know that it's just something messed up with your main account. You can then sign out of the test account, sign back in to your main account, go back to "Settings -> Accounts -> Other users" and remove that test account.
2025-04-08A Former User last edited by Hello, there,Brand new MacBook Pro (macOs Ventura 13.2). Opera keeps signing me out of all accounts (Opera account included), every time I close the browser. It looks like it fails to save cookies, despite the browser being set up properly. The issue persists regardless of the Opera version used (stable / portable / developer). I have tried reinstalling the browser (ALL app data removed), unsyncing my account, deactivating 2FA, using the browser in guest mode, creating a new admin user, granting maximum permissions to the cookie file, without any success. I do not have any apps that clear cookies, or any Opera extensions.Where any other browser (Chrome / Brave / Vivaldi) works properly, Opera simply fails to write to its cookie file. Please review the attached pics (pic 4/6 - Opera vs Chrome cookie file, same browser settings).I dread switching to a different browser, by all means. Opera suits my needs perfectly. I truly hope this can be addressed.Opera Version: 95.0.4635.37 (arm64)System: macOS Version 13.2 (Build 22D49) 13.2.0 arm64Chromium version:109.0.5414.120
