While macOS is a feature-rich platform, many of these features are not easily accessible. Won’t it be super convenient if you can quickly toggle these features from the menu bar?Well, it is what One Switch helps you do it. It lets you create a type of Control Panel that is more customizable and personalized. In doing so, One Switch can replace multiple utilities you may otherwise need. What Is One Switch? One Switch is a super-customizable menu bar app that works as a productivity-focused control panel. Instead of using the built-in control panel on macOS, you can create an easy-to-access collection of switches. Based on our experience, One Switch is the control panel that macOS should have but does not. However, One Switch is not 100% customizable. For instance, although you can choose between the switches and controls available, you cannot create custom actions. You can provide suggestions to the developer community, and you can expect to see those changes soon.Setting Up One SwitchYou can download One Switch from the official website and install it in a few seconds. It immediately shows the default selection of switches and controls. Depending on the specific control/switch, the One Switch app may ask for specific permissions, such as Accessibility and Screen Recording. But this happens on a case-by-case basis, which is a good thing for privacy.Top Controls/Switches on One SwitchHere are a few control/switch options you may like to use through One Switch.Hide Widgets: This action temporarily hides all widgets from the desktop, giving it a cleaner look.Hide Desktop Icons: You can easily hide all the desktop icons, making it suitable for screenshots.Keep Awake: This action lets you stop your Mac from sleeping, replacing apps like Amphetamine.Hide Dock: As it does with desktop and icons and widgets, One Switch can hide the macOS dock.Low Power Mode: This switch lets you turn on the Power Saving Mode on macOSConnect Headphones: You can use this switch to easily connect to your AirPods or other Bluetooth-based speakers/headphones.We appreciate that One Switch developers keep adding more controls to the collection. The option to put in some suggestions is also convenient for many.Core Features of One SwitchOne Switch has an intuitive User Interface, which blends well with macOS, regardless of whether you are on dark mode or light mode.Depending on the switch/control, you may find preferences. Switches, 1 lamp (light bulb), and 3 short pieces of cables.Identify the Two Locations: Determine where you want to install the switches. Label them as "Switch A" and "Switch B."Prepare the Wiring: You will need a pair of three-core cables (with three wires each: usually black, red, and white) between the switches and the light. At each switch location, connect the black wire to the common terminal, the red wire to one of the other terminals, and the white wire to the remaining terminal. At the Light: Connect the black wire from the power source to the black wire of the light. Connect the white wires together. Then, connect the red wire from "Switch A" to the red wire of the light. Similarly, connect the red wire from "Switch B" to the black wire of the light.Completing the Circuit: With this setup, flipping either switch will control the light. When one switch is up, the other should be down. If both are up or down, the light is off.To complete the wiring process, you need to wire light switch in series with the power supply. Check whether both switches are closed. This is imperative for the completion of the circuit. How Is 2 Ways Switching Different from Single Way Switching? Given below are the main differences between one way and two way switching:Switch Configuration: The names of these switches themselves reveal their difference. A one-way switch has a single control, while a two-way switch consists of two switches, often installed at separate locations, for dual control. Cost and Complexity: Two-way switches are usually more cost-effective, but they require more equipment and wiring compared to one-way switches. The wiring involved in two-way switching can be more complex.Control from Multiple Locations: The primary purpose of a two-way switch is to control a device or light fixture from two different locations. In contrast, a one-way switch operates with just one switch at a single location.Operation Logic: Unlike one-way switching, in a two-way switch setup, the ON and OFF status depends on the position of the switch at the other location. This means that flippingWiring a One-Gang One-Way Switch (The Simplest Switch You

Same games played on the original Nintendo Switch work just fine on the new Switch Lite. However, if you want to play any Switch games that don't support handheld mode, like Super Mario Party, then you'll need to connect a compatible wireless controller to play those games. The Switch Lite works with many of the existing Switch accessories. This includes Joy-Cons and the Pro Controller. If you like to play multiplayer games or party games, you'll likely need to pair external Joy-Cons to the system to play. The Switch Lite is smaller and built a little differently from the larger Switch, so some Switch accessories won't work. For instance, it's better to use a dedicated Nintendo Switch Lite case rather than using one for the larger system.Nintendo Switch Online and local co-op with a Switch LiteNintendo Switch Lite (Image credit: Nintendo)You can still access Nintendo Switch Online content and participate in online multiplayer gaming with the Switch Lite. As a matter of fact, if you have a friend who owns one of the larger Switch consoles and you purchase the Switch Lite, you'll be able to connect your devices and play local co-op games. Pretty nifty, eh?Can I transfer my Switch game saves to the Switch Lite?Anyone planning on shifting from either of the larger console versions to the smaller gaming system can breathe a sigh of relief. (Image credit: Sandisk, Future)The best SD cards for Switch are almost essential accessories for any Nintendo Switch owner. I always recommend picking one up, as expanding the storage capacity of your system can be one of the most affordable yet impactful upgrades that you can make full stop. Whether you own the original Nintendo Switch, the Nintendo Switch Lite, or the Nintendo Switch OLED, a Nintendo Switch SD card should be at the top of your gaming wishlist.I’m an avid Nintendo Switch user and love Nintendo’s latest console, but even I can admit that its storage capacity is a major issue. The Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite both come with just 32GB of internal storage, while the Nintendo Switch OLED has only 64GB. Considering the size of many of the best Nintendo Switch games, this simply isn’t enough to store anything more than a modest game library.Thankfully, fitting a Nintendo Switch SD card is extremely easy - you simply slot it into the back of your console and you’re good to go in a matter of seconds. I’ve tested loads of models, so read on for my number one picks. The Quick ListBest overall1. Session from which you entered commands. NoteWe recommend using one CLI session when managing the switch stack. If you want to configure a specific stack member port, you must include the stack member number in the CLI command interface notation. Accessing the CLI Through a Console Connection or Through Telnet Before you can access the CLI, you must connect a terminal or a PC to the switch console or connect a PC to the Ethernet management port and then power on the switch, as described in the hardware installation guide that shipped with your switch. If your switch is already configured, you can access the CLI through a local console connection or through a remote Telnet session, but your switch must first be configured for this type of access. You can use one of these methods to establish a connection with the switch: Connect the switch console port to a management station or dial-up modem, or connect the Ethernet management port to a PC. For information about connecting to the console or Ethernet management port, see the switch hardware installation guide.Use any Telnet TCP/IP or encrypted Secure Shell (SSH) package from a remote management station. The switch must have network connectivity with the Telnet or SSH client, and the switch must have an enable secret password configured. The switch supports up to 16 simultaneous Telnet sessions. Changes made by one Telnet user are reflected in all other Telnet sessions. The switch supports up to five simultaneous secure SSH sessions. After you connect through the console port, through the Ethernet management port, through a Telnet session or through an SSH session, the user EXEC prompt appears on the management station.. A network are enabled with default spanning-tree settings, the switch with the lowest MAC address becomes the root switch. In Figure 20-2, Switch A is elected as the root switch because the switch priority of all the switches is set to the default (32768) and Switch A has the lowest MAC address. However, because of traffic patterns, number of forwarding interfaces, or link types, Switch A might not be the ideal root switch. By increasing the priority (lowering the numerical value) of the ideal switch so that it becomes the root switch, you force a spanning-tree recalculation to form a new topology with the ideal switch as the root. Figure 20-2 Spanning-Tree Topology When the spanning-tree topology is calculated based on default parameters, the path between source and destination end stations in a switched network might not be ideal. For instance, connecting higher-speed links to an interface that has a higher number than the root port can cause a root-port change. The goal is to make the fastest link the root port. For example, assume that one port on Switch B is a Gigabit Ethernet link and that another port on Switch B (a 10/100 link) is the root port. Network traffic might be more efficient over the Gigabit Ethernet link. By changing the spanning-tree port priority on the Gigabit Ethernet port to a higher priority (lower numerical value) than the root port, the Gigabit Ethernet port becomes the new root port. Spanning Tree and Redundant Connectivity You can create a redundant backbone with spanning tree by connecting two switch interfaces to another device or to two different devices, as shown in Figure 20-3. Spanning tree automatically disables one interface but enables it if the other one fails. If one link is high-speed and the other is low-speed, the low-speed link is always disabled. If the speeds are the same, the port priority and port ID are added together, and spanning tree disables the link with the lowest value. Figure 20-3 Spanning Tree and Redundant Connectivity You can also create redundant links between switches by using EtherChannel groups. For moreComments
