Codec pack. Years ago I did follow the way of codec packs, it did broke my audio/video experience, playing audio/video files became a mess. Now the only used filters are the LAV ones, nothing additional, all is playing fine. Not being an expert I can only repeat k-lite advice: LAV decoders give the best performance, quality, stability and compatibility. Some systems might require additional filters, most do not; it's about selecting the good ones not blindly adding more of them. Tried with and without k-lite codec pack. Files play fine in VLC.
