With the countdown underway, we felt there was no better time than to get the lowdown from the man himself, EMF executive producer Mitch Morales.Read on to dig into the festivals’ unique sustainability efforts, top music picks, and what sets Euphoria apart to make us truly feel at home.CYM: 2017 will see another year of partnership between Euphoria and Keep Austin Beautiful, an initiative that encourages attendees to become more ‘green’. Why do you think this relationship is essential to the Euphoria experience? Mitch Morales: The simple answer is that it is ingrained in who we’ve been since the start and just continues to grow. Keep Austin Beautiful has been a great partner with our Ecophoria initiatives. While only in its second year we are expanding the scope of Ecophoria and making it something our fans will take back home with them. Sustainability is an important issue for Euphoria, which puts us on a path that is not only important for the planet and community, but will also separate us from the crowd in terms of values and engagement.CYM: When we interviewed talent buyers back in December, some of the acts most looked forward to included Alan Walker, Bakermat, The Floozies, and Knife Party. What were some of the smaller acts or locals that you think attendees should make a point to catch? We have such an eclectic lineup it is almost hard to say… “you go see this or go see that.” MM: The goal with the lineup is always to provide people with those top level artists that are favorites, but also introduce them to their next ‘can’t miss’. For some reason I always expect that artist to come from the Dragonfly stage… maybe because of the intimate setting, but really it could come from anywhere, depending on who you were prior to entering the Euphoria gates. That being said… it would be a mistake to miss Unlike Pluto or Maddy O’Neal. With Euphoria being one of a few festivals that conduct marriage ceremonies on the grounds, are there any tear inducing proposals for us to look forward to? MM: We always seem to have our fair share of wedding proposals, but you have to be in the right place and right time. Not everyone can use the LED during Above & Beyond. We are getting a ton of requests to have the actual ceremonies at Euphoria. Written by Kelsey JamesThis upcoming April 6-9 is 6th year going Euphoria Music Festival returning to the beautiful Carson Creek Ranch in Austin, Texas. This location is ideal because it is right on the outskirts of Austin, complete with a view of the Austin skyline and planes flying overhead. The art and lineup for Euphoria are the cherry on top and are some of the many reasons why fans keep returning to this unique fest. The lineup for Euphoria has been out for quite a while now and the anticipation is at an all-time high. This year, curators have announced several different improvements after complaints from attendees last year. With these improvements, we are expecting a better overall experience for all in attendance.From the outside of the venue area looking in, the grounds do not look like much. Once you actually cross underneath the threshold of the main gate, you will instantly feel the potential for magic. Last year, car camping was not an option and the walk from car to the campgrounds was a trek, to say the least. This year, car camping is still not an option; however, the walk from car to campgrounds include no hill and a much shorter walk. Other improvements include larger camping spaces and more shade structures.Camping at Euphoria is recommended for a more authentic experience. Not all attending will be camping, which makes camping limited. For those that are against being one with nature, hotels are within driving distance and ubering to the fest is always an option. Last year, the camping experience proved to be worth it and included a handful of amenities such as a cooking area, early entrance to the festival on Wednesday night, a silent disco stage reserved only for campers, a movie theatre screen, and a special performances on Thursday night for all those camping.The fest also offers VIP and RV/Glamping areas for an additional charge. VIP includes free showers, air-conditioned bathrooms, access to the VIP tent inside the venue, access to special viewing areas, and much more. Glamping has a selection of options; including camping in trees or pre-set up tents complete with the works. You are undoubtedly getting what you pay for. If you want to feel like true royalty, consider one of these options.What is so special about this festival is that while it primarily consists of electronic music and different sub-genres within, there are also a few assorted gems in the mix. The lineup ranges from local DJ’s and performers to big headlining DJ’s, jam bands, and rappers such as Zeds Deads, Papadosio, Alesso, Oliver Heldens, Post Malone, Minnesota, Mija, The Widdler and more.Daily schedules have been released already and can be viewed.
