AbstractPurposeThe recent VNS models (AspireSR® Model 106, SenTiva™ Model 1000 (VNS Therapy®, LivaNova)) include a new function of cardiac-based seizure detection (CBSD) automatic stimulation, known as ‘AutoStim’. This algorithm uses tachycardia as a proxy to a seizure, and the battery delivers a closed-loop electrical current in addition to its programmed stimulation. This function leads to further seizure reduction in adults, but this advantage has not been reported in the paediatric population. This study aims to investigate whether battery change with AutoStim leads to further seizure reduction in children.MethodsThis observational study included the first 10 cases of VNS battery change from non-AutoStim to AutoStim function. During the battery change operation, the new VNS was switched on, with the same normal and magnet mode settings as the previous VNS. The AutoStim mode was activated at the same time. Data on seizure burden were collected at 3 time points: (1) before the first VNS insertion, (2) before battery replacement (post-1st VNS) and (3) 12 months post-battery change (post-AutoStim). The net effect of AutoStim, the only changed parameter, was evaluated by comparing the seizure burden prior to and 12 months following battery change in each child.ResultsThe seizure reduction improved significantly from 60 to 83% following battery change with AutoStim. Categorising the outcome according the McHugh classification, children achieving class I and II outcome (≥ 50% seizure reduction) improved from 70 to 90%.ConclusionThis is the first study to demonstrate the additional efficacy of AutoStim in children treated with VNS. Consoled, and movement that’s spontaneous and purposeful. Knowing history is an important part of the overall neurological assessment, the crew leader asks the parents to describe what happened. The mother relates that the two-year-old began “shaking all over” with his “eyes rolled back in his head.” The incident lasted approximately 30à60 seconds with no prior history of seizures. With the parent’s approval, the crew packages and moves the child into the ambulance. Assessment is continued en route with the child’s mental status improving to a GCS of 15. The blood glucose level is determined to be 78 mg/dL. Oxygen is applied and an IV of normal saline is established. During transport, the child actively seizes. Diazepam is administered at 0.1 mg/kg, and the seizure abates within 30 seconds of administration.Case DiscussionCaring for a pediatric patient who’s already experienced a seizure necessitates rapid assessment, transport to a hospital and basic care measures. In this case example, it would have been easy for the crew to assume that the patient had a febrile seizure. It’s not within the scope of EMS practice to render a diagnosis of febrile seizure, and some caregivers have innocently left children at home believing that the seizure was related solely to the rapid increase in temperature. Assessment of seizures requires the field provider to consider multiple possible causes. The popular AEIOU-TIPS mnemonic is a good tool for remembering the various causes.Expect the patient who experienced a grand mal seizure to present with an altered mental status. Attempt to determine if there’s a prior history of seizures and assess medication compliance for patients with a history of seizure activity. It’s possible for a patient with a specific type of seizure (Jacksonian) to present similarly to a stroke. History can be helpful in distinguishing between the two.Case #4: Back PainEMS is summoned to an assault at a local night club. Police have secured the scene and the two crew members are directed to a patient that was stabbed in the back. A young man in his 20s is lying on his side in a pool of blood but is conscious.. The design is tested to see if it fits the design criteria; the results of the tests reveal that a large portion of the scientific procedures utilized in this study to identify epileptic seizures is effective.ConclusionThis project is objectively targeted to design a medical device with multimodal systems that enable us to accurately detect epileptic seizures by detecting symptoms commonly associated with an episode of epileptic seizure and notifying a caregiver for immediate assistance. The proposed device has a great impact on reducing epileptic seizer mortality, especially in low-resource settings where both expertise and treatment are scarce. Peer Review reports BackgroundEpilepsy is a neurological disorder that has a variety of origins. It is caused by hyperexcitability and an imbalance between excitation and inhibition, which results in seizures [1, 2]. Epileptic seizures are jerky or trembling body movements caused by abnormal neural activity, which can injure the brain or other organs [3]. Even a single seizure can disrupt brain development and cause behavioral and cognitive problems. Seizures have a substantial impact on patient’s lives, leading to emotional, behavioral, and neurological issues. Seizures can occur in several locations of the brain, and treatment effectiveness varies based on the individual area, seizure type, and location of abnormal neuronal activity [4].The World Health Organization (WHO) and its partners have classified epilepsy as a major public health concern worldwide that has a major impact on developing countries. According to the WHO, epilepsy affects over fifty million people globally, making it one of the most common neurological illnesses. The seemingly unexpected unpredictability of seizures is one of the most frustrating elements of epilepsy [5,6,7,8,9]. If seizures are not controlled, the patient’s family, social, educational, and vocational activities are severely limited. Furthermore, a life-threatening condition in which seizure activity occurs continuously is frequently treated successfully only with drastic intervention. Until now, the medical profession held the idea that epileptic seizures could not be predicted. Seizures were thought to be sudden transitions

Most counties worldwide. This implies that the problem requires much attention. To solve the detection problem some existing solutions, such as EEG, surface electromyography, implanted advisory systems, magnetometers, and accelerometers have been designed. However, these devices and tests are limited to solving the problem as expected. The hardware section is made up of several components, including an accelerometer for detecting falls during epileptic seizure episodes and a heart rate and oxygen saturation sensor for detecting heart rate variability and oxygen desaturation that occurs during seizures. This is done by placing the hand in the 3D printed compartment, which will help to understand and analyze the state of the patient. The other is a vibration sensor, which will help in the detection of jerky movement after a fall has occurred. The system also contains two buttons: one is used for sending a false alarm message when the system wrongly characterizes the patient condition, and the other is used as a panic button where the user can send a message if he/she needs help. The other part is an OLED display screen that displays the patient heart rate and oxygen saturation in real time. The device can perform a variety of tasks including detecting symptoms caused by an episode of epileptic seizures. It can detect whether the person is at risk of an epileptic seizure or not and can work anywhere without selecting environments. The microcontroller has built-in ADC converters. Direct microcontroller interfaces have been used for good resolution and high noise levels. A microcontroller with sensors determines the charging or discharging time of an RC circuit. This time-to-digital conversion is affected by the quantization of the timer and the trigger noise, which limit the resolution to an effective number of bits. The device that is used to detect falling, jerky movement, heart rate, and oxygen concentration of the patient can be used: In developing countries such as Ethiopia and other African countries where epilepsy is very high, it can give prediction results for the prevention and management of patients. Provide evidence of infringement by infringement seizureIf you or your company hold intellectual property rights such as patents or trademarks and you notice that a third party is presumably infringing them, a seizure may be appropriate.Better understand infringement seizureInfringement seizure allows the holder of intellectual property rights (patents, trademarks, models, geographical indications, etc.) to collect evidence of infringement by a third party and its extent. It is governed by very strict rules. The infringement seizure most often occurs before initiating an infringement lawsuit. It is actually the starting point of the deadline for filing such lawsuit against the alleged infringer.Because it is an extraordinary procedure, ordered by the Court, its framework is strictly delimited and any failure to comply with this framework may result in the cancellation of the seizure. When applying for infringement seizure, you may request either a real seizure of the infringing products, or a descriptive seizure which will allow the bailiff to describe in detail the infringing product, without being authorized to take a sample. The seizure may occur at the headquarters of the alleged infringer’s company, or at the production site of the infringing products, at their place of assembly, their storage location, at a point of sale, or any other location the applicant may choose.Following an infringement seizure, the holder of the rights must seize the court within a period of 20 working days (article L.615-3 of the French Intellectual Property Code) from the date of the seizure. The contribution of Brandon IP in infringement seizure proceduresAs Intellectual Property attorneys, we support the bailiff who carries out the seizure of counterfeit goods in order to guide operations in terms of the evidence sought.Next to the bailiff, the attorney plays the role of the technical expert in charge of the client, owner of the IP rights. This reaction can be dangerous, especially for children. If you notice that they are having bad dreams, the best thing to do is to wait for them to wake up and be there to comfort them, following the old saying “let sleeping dogs lie.”Stage 3: Dreams Vs Abnormalities In Dogs During SleepingSeizuresSeizure is a serious health problem occurring in dogs. A dog suffering a seizure is different from a dreaming dog. According to the American Kennel Club, the movements of your pets while they are dreaming may look uncontrolled, but when it comes to a seizure, the situation may appear totally out of their control. Most dogs suffer from a seizure when they are awake or after waking up from a long sleep. However, this condition also happens when dogs are sleeping, making it easy to be confused with normal dream reactions. That places importance on grasping knowledge about what a seizure looks like. This piece of information will help you better distinguish whether your dog is having a serious seizure or just having a very active dream. For example, normal movements of dogs during dreaming may be kicking, twitching, or paddling their legs that typically last for a short period of time. On the contrary, a dog having a seizure will be violently shaking and have more severe and prolonged reactions.Furthermore, during a seizure, your pet may pant excessively, and even vomit, urinate, or defecate unconsciously. His eyes are wide open but you can easily see a blank stare. At the same time, he also starts to produce loud and involuntary sounds such as moaning, screaming, or howling. Unlike dreams, your dog will lose control and consciousness during a seizure. That’s why when you call his name. he will not wake up or react to what you’re saying. If your

Middle of a sentence. It may seem like a pause to an observer. If the absence seizure is very short, the person may not be aware they even had a seizure. If it is a bit longer, they may be aware that they have missed some time. What happens after an absence seizure? When an absence seizure ends, the person usually continues doing whatever they were doing before the seizure. They are almost always wide awake and able to think clearly. Generally, no first aid is needed for this type of seizure. When absence seizures happen close together or a person has many in a day, the person may look or act confused and lose track of what has been going on. For children in school, they may not be aware of what has happened in the classroom, miss instructions from the teacher, or have incomplete work. If someone has absence seizures, how often will they happen? The number of absence seizures a person may have varies a lot. Seizure medicines can control absence seizures in many children so they have rare seizures or none at all. Other people may have hundreds of brief absence seizures a day. How are they diagnosed? A good description of what happened is important. Usually, this description comes from people who have seen the seizures: a parent, teacher, or other family member. If the events sound like seizures or other symptoms have happened, the doctor will order an EEG (electroencephalogram). The EEG checks the electrical activity in. Limited.MethodThe proposed designThe proposed device is designed based on four basic scientific research characteristics of epileptic seizures: occurrence of fall which is detected by the accelerometer; oxygen denaturation is below 90% for most seizure cases; heart rate variability, in which ictal tachycardia is very common phenomenon during seizure episodes. It is the increase in heart rate by 10 bpm from the normal heart rate of the patient and Jerky movement or vibration is a condition that occurs during tonic-clonic seizures. To assess the patient’s condition the system incorporates different sensors. The system obtains information about the seizure episode by analyzing four inputs. Heart rate and oxygen saturation data are taken using a MAX30100 sensor, after which a heart rate variability algorithm checks for the existence of ictal tachycardia which is a very common condition during epileptic seizures and is characterized by an increase in the normal heart rate baseline of the patient over 10 bpm. The second input is body orientation which is detected using accelerometer data in which a patient’s hand acceleration is measured for the detection of falls during seizures. This is done by taking the average acceleration of the hand and comparing it to a threshold value in which the value exceeds that threshold and is characterized as a fall. The last input is jerky movement in which a simple vibration sensor is used to detect its occurrence by measuring fluctuating accelerations or speeds or for normal vibration measurement. A vibration sensor is a type of accelerometer but an accelerometer is not necessarily a vibration sensor. An accelerometer measures the quality of acceleration, not necessarily vibration or jerky movements. In vibration, three basic characteristics of jerky movements are measured to evaluate the vibration that describes the movement: namely frequency, amplitude and acceleration.During some types of seizures especially tonic-clonic seizures, there is an abrupt shaking movement of the body and limbs. Thus, the vibration sensor can detect this shaking and check the threshold value and monitor if the measured value exceeds the presented value. After gathering different sensory data a decision algorithm on the microcontroller will evaluate the data and
