Unanimous approval to the $11 million contract. But that was just the beginning. In 2021, the board shoved its stack of chips on the table. Capital Metro would plop down up to $255 million for 197 electric buses. This time, the deal would be split between two manufacturers: Canada’s New Flyer and Proterra, the politically connected California firm that hosted President Biden for a virtual tour earlier that year.Long before Capital Metro received its bus orders, Proterra would be in a Delaware bankruptcy court chopping up the company and selling it off in pieces. Transit agencies across North America revealed private concerns in public court fillings, alleging the buses were mechanically unreliable, lost range in adverse weather and in rare cases would burst into flames.Capital Metro admitted at the time of the bankruptcy proceedings that the shift to an all-electric fleet was hitting speed bumps.“The reliability of electric buses no matter the manufacturer is less than a diesel bus. Will not (it's a mystery). Frequent Contributor 06-28-2022 06:01 PM Re: Cap 1 Savor: Grocery Purchases? One thing to keep in mind is that if you buy items at a dining establishment IN a grocery store, say like the cafe in Whole Foods, you should be covered either way using the Capital One Savor - groceries are a 3% category while dining is a 4% category on the Savor. That's one of my "tricks" when making purchases at a location that most likely will code as one of two things; if I have a card that provides a higher cash back rate on both possible categories, I use that card at the location. A few examples:*Dining at a grocery store cafe/restaurant - use Capital One SavorOne (provides 3% cash back on both dining and groceries)*Buying food at a sports event, concert, or movie theater - use Capital One SavorOne (provides 3% cash back on both dining and entertainment)*Dining at a hotel - use Wells Fargo Propel (provides 3% cash back on both dining and travel)With the last example, the impending Wells Fargo Autograph should work in a similar manner. News • Boston, city, capital of the commonwealth of Massachusetts, and seat of Suffolk county, in the northeastern United States. It lies on Massachusetts Bay, an arm of the Atlantic Ocean. The city proper has an unusually small area for a major city, and more than one-fourth of the total—including part of the Charles River, Boston Harbor, and a portion of the Atlantic—is water. Area city, 46 square miles (119 square km). Pop. Character of the city The area, the people, and the institutions within its political boundaries can only begin to define the essence of Boston. Its nickname “Beantown” has its origin in colonial times, when Boston, as a stop on a major trade route with the West Indies, had a steady supply of molasses from the Caribbean, thus leading to the creation of a popular dish that became known as Boston baked beans (beans baked in molasses). As a city and as a name, Boston is a symbol of much that has gone into the development of the American consciousness, and its presence reaches far beyond its immediate environs. As the spiritual capital of the New England states, as the progenitor of the American Revolution and the nation, and as the earliest centre of American culture, Boston has influenced the country for some three centuries. Though Boston, like New England in general, has played a lessening role in national life since the early 20th century, it has remained the focal point of what may be the most diversified and dynamic combination of educational, cultural, medical, and scientific activities in the United States.
