2025-04-18MJ is the energy that BuildCraft 3 uses. MJ stands for Minecraft Joules. It is generated by any kind of Engine and can be used by any kind of BuildCraft machinery. Many types of energy can be converted to MJ by using Engines, however, transforming MJ into other power types is a more complex process, and needs the use of other mods machines. MJ can travel through Conductive Pipes and Redstone Energy Conduit. Generation[]MJs are made by all types of Engines. Redstone Engines generate MJ just with a redstone signal, but others like the Combustion Engine need Fuel or other resources to produce MJ. Since Redstone Engines can only power Wooden Transport Pipes and Wooden Waterproof Pipes, a higher-tier engine is needed in order to power machinery.List of Engines[]NameMax Output (MJ/t)Source ModBiogas Engine5ForestryBlulectric Engine23+RedPower 2Combustion Engine6Buildcraft 3Commercial Steam Engine4RailcraftElectrical Engine14ForestryHobbyist's Steam Engine2RailcraftIndustrial Steam Engine8RailcraftMagmatic Engine4Thermal ExpansionPeat-fired Engine1ForestryRedstone Engine0.05Buildcraft 3Steam Engine2Thermal ExpansionStirling (Steam) Engine1Buildcraft 3Transportation[] Some Golden Conductive Pipes carrying MJ. The cyan beam in the pipes is MJ. Engines can place their MJ into a machine, a Wooden Conductive Pipe (which can be then attached to other Conductive Pipes), or a Redstone Energy Conduit with the arrow pointing out of the machine.Conductive Pipes are like wire for MJ to travel through. Stone Conductive Pipes have a 1% energy loss by each block, and Golden Conductive Pipes have a 0.01% energy loss by block. When MJ is traveling through a Conductive Pipe, a cyan beam is seen inside the pipes. MJ traveling a Conductive Pipe is seen in the right of this page, note the cyan beam inside the pipe.To see more information see Conductive PipesConversion[]Other power types can be converted into MJ. EU, IndustrialCraft 2's power, can be converted into MJ by using an Electrical Engine. Blutricity, RedPower 2's power, can be converted into MJ by using a Blulectric Engine, which takes blutricity and outputs MJ. MJ can be converted into EU by powering a Magma Crucible with Netherrack or Cobblestone inside it that generates lava, and then put that lava into a Geothermal Generator or a Thermal Generator; the Magma Crucible will take MJ and the generator will output EU, with an efficiency that depends on what resource is melted in the crucible and which generator is used to extract EU. The most efficient version of this process allows the resulting EU to be converted back into MJ with a properly upgraded Electrical Engine with no loss.EU Conversion[]Lava SourceGeneratorMJ per LavaEU per LavaEU per MJCobblestoneGeothermal Generator24,00020,0000.83CobblestoneThermal Generator24,00030,0001.25NetherrackGeothermal Generator12,00020,0001.67NetherrackThermal Generator12,00030,0002.5v · d · e Buildcraft 3 Transport NetworkItem Pipes Cobblestone Transport Pipe • Diamond Transport Pipe • Golden Transport Pipe • Iron Transport Pipe • Obsidian Transport Pipe • Sandstone
2025-04-15The article Oil is still unfinished and may be lacking detailed general information, screenshots, and crafting recipes. Please expand the article and remove the {{unfinished}} tag once the article can be considered complete.Oil contains information about the BuildCraft mod.Oil (or 'Black gold' if you like) is a part of the BuildCraft mod. It is a black liquid found in pools that are generated randomly around the world. The primary use for it is to be refined into Fuel for the powering of Combustion engines, amongst other things.Spawning[]Small deposits are relatively common and most often appear in desert biomes as pools. They contain on average 16 buckets of oil. eu quero ter mito mods e lega nossa cara Large and medium-sized deposits, while often looking the same as small deposits usually open out under the surface. The bottleneck caused by the small opening creates a geyser (see picture) which is how one distinguishes a large deposit from a small one. The height of the geyser has a loose correlation to the size of the deposit. The large geyser of extreme deposits. Extreme Deposits[]Extreme deposits are very rare, they contain extremely large amounts of oil. They can be distinguished by a very tall geyser and the stray oil source blocks in the vicinity of the very high geyser. They are a very good find; players that do find them should immediatly write down the coordinates. Because of their immense size, players often have a large surplus of oil from these extreme deposits.[]Oil can be picked up using a standard bucket, like many other liquids in Vanilla Minecraft. For large deposits, however, it is much more economical to set up a Pump. This will extract oil which can be run down Waterproof Pipess to be stored or used. To ensure extraction of the maximum amount of oil the player should ensure that the pump reaches down to the lowest point of the oil deposit.Storage and Usage[]Once oil has been extracted, it can be pumped to Tanks, be refined in an oil refinery, or be pumped straight into a combustion engine to be used
