Pin down exactly where I've started, however since I was 10 (when I got my first laptop) I've always searched "FREE MUSIC SOFTWARE [insert year]!!1!" and I've tried countless online and/or freeware DAWs: Soundation, Soundtrap, Beepbox.co, Music Maker, LMMS and probably more; which all came down to Audiotool today!How long have you been using Audiotool, and how did you discover it?I've been using Audiotool for 4 years now. I discovered Audiotool from a frustrated Google search: "Free Music Software 2020", and then, the great Audiotool hyperlink came up! I still remember how excited I was when I first discovered it.What is your favorite Audiotool device and why? Pulverisateur. I doubt I spelled that right. Alas, despite it's simplicity, it has that ⭐Audiotool sound⭐ which I just can't get over, I LOVE IT.What is your favorite trick in AT/What technique do you always use?Unconventional, but I love messing with the base frequency. When I'm not feeling a song, I usually switch from 440 to 400, 380 or 410. That usually changes EVERYTHING, and it's inspired me in so many ways!Have you ever had a writer's block? If so, how did you deal with it and what do you recommend to your colleaguesAgh, my worst nightmare. Truthfully I haven't discovered a good way to deal with it, however, out of being upset about it, I usually mess with random sounds. It doesn't matter how bad the sound sounds, but sometimes it can sound good enough to just spark something in my head to create something.If that doesn't work, I'll watch a children's film from the 1960s or something like The Sound Of Music. I love old children's movies, and they usually spawn intense inspiration in me! So, I'd just watch a film of your interest. Maybe a kind of film that you love so much where if you could, you'd act in it; Ideally musical films. As you may have noticed, in the top left corner of the Audiotool App, there is a function that allows you to upload your own samples into the online sample library. You may be wondering; "What samples am I permitted to upload?". Well, you've come to the right thread!Copyrighted SamplesFrom my 6 years of experience on this site, I have learned a lot of things. Within the knowledge I have gained, I've learned a lot about sample uploading. Now, one of the things that have always been a prevalent issue on this site is the uploading of copyrighted samples. There can range from; a Kick drum in a premium sample pack, a bass loop from a well-known artists' song, all the way to an outright blatant rip from a popular song. All of the above are not permitted on this site, for good reason. The sample library is cloud based, and anyone on this site can access samples that you have uploaded. This means that if you upload samples from a premium (Paid) sample pack, you are, however unintentional it may be, distributing samples from that pack for free, without permission from the owner of the samples. This means that Audiotool.com could potentially come under lawsuit from the aforementioned company, potentially resulting in the site being shut down, due to copyright infringement. And, also, it's just downright embarrassing to be caught trying to pass off someone else's work as your own.Uploading samples that you have made in another DAW. This is complicated. Audiotool, first and foremost, is an online DAW, and with that, it also features an inbuilt publishing platform for you to share your tracks. Although this can be likened to something like SoundCloud, or YouTube, it is not to be used as such. Really, the publishing platform this site provides should be used only for tracks made on the DAW and therefore not for uploading songs you may have made in another workstation. (Trust me, I know this.) Although that is the case, in certain circumstances it would be acceptable to import your own sample that you created, as long as you don't use so many that the track is almost entirely made on another DAW.
