Realtek ATI HDMI Audio Driver 2.39 - Drivers Softpedia

New 04 Aug 2011 #1 No sound through HDMI A few days ago, I plugged a HDMI cable into my new laptop and watched a few videos on my HDTV. No problems whatsoever. Since then though, every time I plug in the HDMI cable, the video comes through just fine, but there's no sound. I've found several threads with similar problems, both here and on other sites, but nothing I've found and tried has worked. Some more details: Laptop is a HP Pavilion DV6-3141eaGraphics card ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 (Most threads say it's something to do with the graphics but I've still not managed to fix it)I've updated the drivers for both the graphics card and the sound card (IDT High Definition Audio CODEC). When I plug in the HDMI, nothing changes in my sound settings - the only choices I have are Speakers and Headphones, Independent Headphones, and Speakers (Bluetooth Hands-free Audio). There's no HDMI option or SP/DIF or anything appearing once I plug in the HDMI. I've checked for disconnected and disabled devices too, and it still doesn't show up.Any advice would be greatly appreciated - I get the distinct feeling this is one of those things that's been staring me in the face the whole time > New 05 Aug 2011 #2 If the HDMI is not listed in the Control Panel/Hardware and Sound/Sound Panel playback section. RIGHT click in a blank area in that panel and select show disabled and disconnected devices. If it then displays the HDMI you can then select it as default playback device and you should get HDMI audio. But, if it still does not display that USUALLY indicates a problem with the Video drivers. Like I said in my original post, I've already checked for disabled and disconnected devices, and updated all my drivers. Still lost :/ New 05 Aug 2011 #4 Where did you update the video? From HP or ATI (AMD)? I would. Realtek ATI HDMI Audio Driver R1.91 New 10 Feb 2013 #1 How to force Win to use AMD HDMI Sound Drivers For whatever reason, in Win 7 64 bit, my AMD Radeon HD7770 HDMI shows as "High Definition Audio Device" (the generic Microsoft drivers) rather than "AMD High Definition Audio Device". I have the same hardware and drivers on a dual boot (separate hard drives) on Win 8 and it shows as "AMD High Definition Audio Device". Things I've tried:1. Uninstall the High Defintion Audio Device in the Device Manager then restart the PC and let Windows detect and reinstall. Did not change.2. Search for new driver, but all it finds is the one that is already installed. 3 Uninstall the HD Audio Device in the Device Manager again. Then install the latest AMD Catalyst/driver (the beta version, as I had the latest non-beta version installed), restart the PC. Still have the Microsoft driver listed rather than AMD. Which driver works better is not the point. It should be using the AMD driver, not the generic Microsoft HD Audio Codec driver. My on-board audio (RealTek) is using the RealTek driver. New 10 Feb 2013 #2 Fixed. Fell back to the 12-10 Catalyst/drivers. That was the one thing I didn't try. With the 12-10 drivers it shows "AMD" in the HDMI. The 13-1 and the 13-2Beta5 when installed both show HD Audio (Microsoft). Must be a bug in the Win 7 drivers since the same drivers in Win 8 have the correct AMD in the HDMI. New 10 Feb 2013 #3 Tried the standalone ATI HDMI driver from Realtek? New 10 Feb 2013 #4 I wouldn't think RealTek would have anything to do with AMD Radeon HDMI. ???? New 10 Feb 2013 #5 It does as that is the chip used on the card for the HDMI
