Animated shorts may be followed by a feature film. American McGee's Alice: Otherlands has succesfully reached its Kickstarter goal with the animated spin-off project attracting $227,377 from backers. The campaign had been looking for $200,000. McGee will now oversee the production of several animated shorts with each focusing on the stories created by famous historical writers. Jules Verne, the writer of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, and Arthur Conan Doyle, the creator of Sherlock Holmes, are among those being considered. It's possible that each of the adaptations will also see full feature films. Donations to the project are still available through PayPal and McGee hopes to comes to an arrangment to see Alice voice actress Susie Brann and Cheshire Cat actor Roger Jackson join the project after funding fell short of the $250,000 stretch goal which would have seen them lend their talents to Otherlands. The success of the Kickstarter for Alice: Otherworlds comes after McGee failed to fund OZombie, a dark Wizard of Oz themed game. Thanks: Eurogamer.
